Use & Care

The best way to clean a cork yoga mat is to use a soft cloth with cold water. Gently wipe the mat with the damp cloth and then let it air dry before rolling it up and storing it. Scrubbing the mat too hard (e.g. with a scouring pad) can damage the mat.

If there are stains on the yoga mat or the mat needs thorough cleaning, you can make your own cleaner for the cork yoga mat:

Fill a spray bottle or (plant) spray with the following ingredients:

• 3 parts water
• 1 part Witch Hazel (witch hazel) or white vinegar
• 5 drops of your favourite essential oil. Lavender, tea tree, lemongrass and eucalyptus are the
  essential oils recommended for their disinfectant properties.

Shake the spray bottle. Spray the mat with the spray and wipe it clean with a soft cloth.
Let the mat air dry completely before storing it.

It is up to you how often you clean your cork yoga mat. Some people wipe the mat every time after use, while others clean it once a month. Should you sweat a lot and/or use the mat daily, we recommend cleaning it a bit more often.
