Use & Maintenance
- Keep your eKO yoga mat fresh and clean smelling by wiping it down after each practice with Manduka's Mat Wash & Refresh.
Maintain the performance of your eKO yoga mat by applying Manduka's Natural Rubber Yoga Mat Restore once a month. Let the cleaner sit for 5 minutes and use a clean cloth to gently wipe the mat dry before rolling it up or using it.
- Always ensure the yoga mat and floor are completely dry before placing the mat on the floor. A wet mat or wet floor can cause color transfer and stains on the floor.
- Do not expose the mat to direct sunlight. If wet, let the mat dry before rolling it up. Store your eKO yoga mat rolled up and in a bag or cover for best performance when not in use, as prolonged exposure to air and sun can damage the rubber on the mat.
- The eKO® yoga mats cannot be machine washed, this will damage the mat and accelerate the breakdown of the rubber mat.
- Do not soak or submerge in water.
- Do not use the salt method on the eKO® yoga mats.
- Using the eKO® yoga mats in a warm environment can dry out the rubber and thus reduce performance and flexibility of the material.
Green Mission
The new eKO® Lite is a natural yoga mat made from sustainably harvested tree rubber and contains over 30% recycled rubber. Unlike other rubber mats available today, the foaming agents used to create the eKO yoga mat are non-toxic. This means that no toxic chemicals have entered the manufacturing process to soften the rubber. Additionally, Manduka has chosen to use a blend of polyester and natural cotton instead of synthetic polyester as reinforcement.
